Job Description

Holman's Welding Limited is a CWB certified shop requiring a Welder/Fitter able to layout and weld for custom fabrications.  Responsibilities will include fabrication from supplied drawings, fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures to produce parts that meet customer specifications, as well as the fabrication of metal structures in a high production environment.

This position is a Lead Hand position and will work with our Shop Foreman to ensure continuous improvements in the management of our work process, welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.  The Welder will be required to have experience in manufacturing methods, perform tasks independently and work to customer specifications, and have strong knowledge and skill in operating all metalworking machinery.  The use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to manufacture metal products.  Additionally, the Welder will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.

Education RequirementSecondary School Diploma Experience Requirement
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 5 years experience as a Welder
  • CWB tickets and valid welding certification in one or more of these processes:  GMAW, SMAW, FCAW and GTAW and multi-pass welding
  • Ability to design and fabricate one-off pieces independently; able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, welding symbols and detail specifications
  • Experience in layout, fitting and welding (MIG and TIG) custom fabrications
  • Competent in technical trades' math and material handling
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Health and safety conscious; able to keep work station in clean and safe condition and work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Machine maintenance and a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able to work well under pressue
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Must have a valid driver's licence
